Flight Log
David and Kevin, married in 2014, are passionate about food and wine. Since they met in 2009, they have visited many wine tasting rooms, restaurants, and hotels in both Washington state and abroad. Discussions gradually turned from positives and negatives at each establishment to how they would manage their own tasting room. After years of brainstorming, planning, and consulting experts, Flight Wine + Chocolate opened in the Solis building in vibrant Capitol Hill in 2021.
David, who worked for DeLille for nine years and was a WA Wine Ambassador, oversees the Flight wine program, while Kevin, who began working with chocolate in 2016, produces all of the dark chocolate creations. Flight’s mission is to be a space where both experienced oenophiles and novice sippers enjoy expertly curated wines alongside handmade chocolate in a comfortable, welcoming, and beautiful environment. Wines from Washington and Oregon are compared and contrasted with bottles from around the world, highlighting how fortunate we are to live in the iconic Pacific Northwest.
Your Flight adventure awaits. Welcome aboard.

FAQ
ABOUT THE WINE
-
We have two tiers of flights (a series of 1-2 oz. pours, generally ranging from bubbles and whites to reds), based on the price point of each bottle. The First Class flight will feature more exclusive and small production red wines and will usually begin with Champagne, while the Business Class flight will highlight excellent chilled wines at exceptional values. Occasionally we will have limited-run International, Specialty , or Bubbles flights. All of our wines are available by the glass. Check out the ‘Menus’ tab for more details.
-
Yes! Flight is first and foremost a wine shop. Stop by and let our experts help you select an amazing bottle of wine to go. Often you can try before you buy! If you enjoyed a particular wine from a flight or glass pour, you can take a bottle home with you to share with others. Bottle pricing is in the ‘Menus’ tab, as well as printed menus in the tasting room.

Yes! We can ship to most states in the US. To inquire about shipping to specific states, please stop by Flight or email us, info@flightwineandchocolate.com.

Ideally, store your wine horizontally in a cool, dry place, at approximately 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Try your best to protect it from light and vibration, and keep the humidity around 60-68 percent. A wine fridge can help keep the wine happy if you don’t have an ideal place to store wine in your home.

Reservations are not required for chocolate, merchandise, gift card or wine bottle sales.
ABOUT THE CHOCOLATE
-
While we will offer our suggestions as to what we feel pairs well with the wine you are going to enjoy, the dark chocolate line is designed to stand alone. Enjoy a chocolate in the comfort of the Flight Lounge for a quick treat, a flight of chocolate to taste the whole lineup (the chocolate flight also comes with a taste of chocolate friendly wine like port or off-dry riesling!) , or purchase a special selection to take home with you. Flight chocolates are handmade in house, and make a fantastic gourmet gift.
-
The filled and hand dipped chocolates are best consumed within 5 weeks for best flavor and texture, while the bars and bark strips are good for at least a year. There is a “Best By” date on the entire Flight chocolate line.
-
A cool, dry place is best. Keep the chocolates out of the fridge, as that can cause some issues. Think cool cupboard or wine fridge… The best bet is to eat them quickly. We will make more!
-
No, not at this time. We have a very small production and typically sell out of what we make. As we grow and expand we might start to ship, so keep an eye on this site for updates.
